From the first batch of 15 battery-operated buses received by Jhansi, 5 of them have been put to roads. The city is going to receive 20 more battery-operated buses in the following days. The effort to provide these buses was launched as part of the continuing Smart City project.
Anurag Sharma, MP for Jhansi, stated, “Initially, fifteen buses were sanctioned for the city, of which five rolled down on Tuesday and the others would begin playing shortly.” He stated that the government will approve additional buses in the future if the viability of running these buses is shown.
The buses were launched with great excitement from the electronic recharging point in the Kochabhawar region by Jhansi MP Anurag Sharma, who was joined by Ravi Sharma, MLA of the city, and Mayor Ram Teerath Singhal.
The buses will be running in rural as well as urban provinces of the district, including Babina, Mauranipur, railway station, and other adjoining areas.
For the first time, city residents will be able to experience a metropolis bus journey, which is expected to make everyday traveling easier.
Ravi Sharma stated that the new bus, in addition to assisting daily passengers, will aid in the battle against global warming by lowering pollution levels.
