Mouser Electronics is now stocking RA4M2 microcontrollers from Renesas Electronics. The RA4M2 Group expands the RA4 Series microcontrollers, delivering an exceptional combination of very low active power consumption, high performance, and enhanced security features that positions them as ideal solutions for industrial and Internet of Things (IoT) applications.
The Renesas RA4M2 microcontrollers, available from Mouser Electronics, are built on a high-performance 100 MHz Arm® Cortex®-M33 core based on Armv8-M architecture, with Arm TrustZone® technology and Renesas’ Secure Crypto Engine. The Secure Crypto Engine incorporates multiple symmetric and asymmetric cryptography accelerators, advanced key management, security lifecycle management, power analysis resistance, and tamper detection.
The RA4M2 microcontrollers feature an operating current of just 80 µA/MHz in active mode, as well as a low standby current of 0.7 mA and extremely fast wakeup time from standby of 30 µs. With operating frequencies up to 100 MHz, the RA4M2 microcontrollers are ideal for high-performance, low-power applications such as industrial and IoT edge devices as well as metering, HVAC, and enhanced premises security.
The microcontrollers are supported by Renesas’ Flexible Software Package (FSP), which enables rapid implementation of complex security and connectivity functions by allowing customers to reuse legacy code and combine it with software from other Arm partners. The FSP also offers tools to increase efficiency, accelerating the development process for projects targeting the RA4M2 microcontrollers.
